Gen Zers are adopting Boomer hobbies
Younger generations like Millennials and Gen Zers are slowing down in their daily lives. The senior lifestyle is gaining appreciation in these young people as we’ve seen earlier bed times, earlier dinner reservations, less alcohol consumption and coupon clipping replace youth-centric activities. But why is this the case? Plus: AI companies pledge against child exploitation and Starbucks has union negotiations.

On Monday, US officials began the construction of what’s being called “the first US high speed rail” from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. This AI-generated rom-com proves AI is no Scorsese (yet)
A new wave of AI video is here and it looks pretty shoddy. An AI-generated rom-com trailer, released by TV maker TCL, is making its rounds on the Internet for one obvious reason: it looks weird. Although AI video is all the rage, does this rom-com flick indicate that we’re not in a place where it can take over Hollywood yet? Plus: Tesla recalls all Cybertrucks and pressure builds for TikTok.

Went down fast
"What's going on on business and tech". The show has been going down fast. Nothing to do with the initial episodes with more and better content and comments. Currently, the hosts, while they have a good idea of marketing and advertising (and "content creation"), they miss many of the business "why's" that are behind. On the tech side, they display a lack of technical knowledge as they fail to grasp the concepts, and the implications of technologies. Two stars because you still get some news and info that you are unlikely to get on the FT, WSJ, MIT, etc, podcasts. Those are somehow interesting. A real turn-off is that the host seem to think that everyone works doing the same as them, writing stories in a co-working space, Starbucks, or at home. Again, their idea of businesses is completely askew. For you to write about all these stories, someone needs to make that happen, CEOs, techies, bankers, investors, accountants... The constant whining of some of the hosts is also quite unbearable. Again, get a real job then, and you will understand what you are trying to write about. Interestingly enough, they share that they (some) have never worked in an office or any other business before. To be able to write about stuff, you need to have done your time and know about it. Unfortunately it is one of many podcasts with self-appointed experts that they really don't know much about anything (except "content creation" based on real journalist's stories).
Update on today's episode (I still listen once in a while). JBR "why are these gaming companies reducing staff and focusing on growth? Are they trying to make the shareholders happy? I don't get it". You don't get it? That is what CEOs have to do in publicly traded companies. That is companies/markets 101. If a podcast of business and tech doesn't get it... Maybe should not be talking about these topics
Business news has never been so entertaining
This lively, sprightly, fast-paced show actually makes business news fun. And one of the ways this show’s stable of hosts make business news fun is by offering opinionated takes on off-the-beaten-path or under-the-radar subjects. If this is what the money the company I work for spends on HubSpot goes towards, then yeah, spend more of it.
